Is There A Future Chrysler Imperial?
Back in the heyday of the manufacturer, Imperial was the best Chrysler car line. Big, bold and luxurious, opulent imperial line was canceled, but the car later appear occasionally as a top model Chrysler, just above the magazine The New Yorker. Fortunately, a late 80s/early 90 bad version of the car has never taken, but the damage was done. The name Imperial was filthy! Expected DaimlerChrysler [DCX and] you forgot the Imperial truly awful, as shown in the imperial concept car shows as well attended throughout the U.S. in 2006. Imperial has a return? Maybe, but they need to work on the concept of first!
The best thing that ever happened to Chrysler was the 'merger' with Mercedes to form DCX. Okay, now I have already said. Initially, the relationship between the two companies were very rocky, but thanks to good management, many problems earlier, had been established. Today, several products that are in the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge showrooms are there thanks to the infusion of cash from DCX. In fact, the Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum and Chrysler 300C are each directly derived from the old "M" platforms Mercedes body. This platform has allowed Chrysler to build a line of popular cars rear-wheel drive and the three names I just mentioned are part of that line.
Enter the Chrysler Imperial.
Based on the Chrysler 300C platform, the Imperial stretch a few inches longer and sit in the 300C. Loan style tips for the Rolls Royce Phantom, the Imperial would retail for at least $ 60,000 and put it in the same category as models of Cadillac, Lexus, Infiniti, and even a Mercedes.
Refined luxury appointments such as leather seats, real wood trim, special interior lighting, and a strong engine are some of the characteristics of the Imperial. Above all, the car Chrysler has shaken the market to grab customers flee to competitors' brands. Hello, you need something a little 'more luxurious than the 300C to keep mobile customers in the house!
Finally, the decision to build the Imperial is not from Detroit, but Stuttgart, home of the Mercedes. If the model is seen as direct competition against the different models of Mercedes, the Imperial will not see daylight. Again, could strengthen a renewed again the name of Imperial Chrysler and contribute to better compete with the likes of Buick, Cadillac, Lincoln, Infiniti, Acura and Lexus.
