The Bugatti Type 57 Touring Car
The most famous Bugatti racing cars can be either 35, 51 and 59 Grand Prix models. But the race cars were smaller part of the production Bugatti. Most cars are not even sports cars, they were really Touring Cars.
Among the cars of Bugatti Type 57, 3.3-liter eight-cylinder car produced between 1934 and 1939 is the most notable. example of the work of Ettore Bugatti.
The Type 57 camshaft engine produces 130 horsepower and twice that was available from March 1934. During production of the Type 57 sports were some versions, namely, 57, 57C Type 57SC and very little. In total, about 725 of each model type 57 occurred.
The engine was an important piece of engineering even by today's standards. One elbow was full pressure lubrication and a dual overhead cam engine rear-wheel drive is powered. He was a die-cast aluminum base with Bonal Scale Invar-strut pistons installed in most vehicles.
The intake manifold is mounted on the right side of the engine, changed the design several times in the time that the form 57 is in production with significant improvements. The exhaust manifold was made of cast iron and mounted on the opposite side.
The suspension system used in the typical Bugatti reversed quarter elliptic rear with semi-elliptic springs at the front. The braking system was controlled by cables, even towards the end of the production cycle in 1938 it was changed to a Lockheed hydraulic system.
The performance of a1934 Type 57 was reported by the Motor Sports, which reached 105 mph, so ...
"The 57S has a truly amazing performance is capable of 115 mph, which is remarkably good for a sports car not blow"
Soon as these cars were they were also fun to drive, even the London traffic, according to the late Sir Malcolm Campbell, who I think need a little more to the excellent adhesion, incredible acceleration and brakes very powerful.
